while improving your Health"

M's Healthy Walking Group

"We live in such a beautiful area,

and one of the best ways of exploring it is by walking."

  • Our Guided local walks take place every Tuesday morning at 9:30am.

  • We have different meeting points each week, so different areas of the countryside can be discovered. (See meeting points at bottom of page)

  • We explore and stroll around Tauntons' Countryside and Footpaths.

  • Walks last approximately 60-90 minutes.

  • Walks are suitable for all ages, all levels of fitness, females and males.

A guided walk is very social, meeting new people, chatting along the route and sharing a happy experience.

"10,000 steps a day can reduce body fat, boost your mood and cut the risk of heart disease" (nhs)

Suitable for those who enjoy walking or just being in the great outdoors.

Even low and moderate intensity exercise such as walking, when carried out consistently,is associated with important cardiovascular health benefits. Walking has also been shown to reduce anxiety and tension and aid in weight loss. Regular walking may help improve cholesterol profile, help control hypertension, and slow the process of osteoporosis (The Journal of the Americal Mecial Association).

Walkers have less incidence of cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other killer diseases. They live longer and get mental health and spiritual benefits (Benefits of walking- How walking reduces health risks).
